Version History We have incorporated a local chess engine into this version. This allows you to:
- receive hints in 2-player mode
- play against the engine locally (without an internet connection). We have limited the engine so that you have a chance of winning.
- simply set up a position in “Free Analysis Mode” and change it freely. The engine immediately calculates the best sequence of moves and evaluates the position. This works similarly to the old “TASC R30/40 chess computer.” 3.1.1 11/26/2025 In addition to the LiChess mode, there is now also a 2-player mode.
Here you play against another person via your e-Board. The app only controls the moves and records the games (you can then distribute the PGN file using the cell phone share function). The clock display can be adjusted very flexibly, e.g. where the cell phone is positioned in relation to the board.
Do you have an interesting game but your opponent has lost on time? Then you can still continue the game in 2-player mode.
Withdrawals are very easy via your e-Board by switching on the withdrawal mode and then every previous position is counted as a withdrawal. So you can easily return to a previous position to try another move.
We have also introduced an option in the relatively new “Focus” mode (from the previous version) that simulates a real clock. Here you first have to press a button until your move is transmitted. 3.0.0 06/05/2025 - Focus mode: Concentrate on the game! In this mode, your cell phone only displays the chess clock. If there are any differences between the board position and the position on LiChess, the cell phone briefly switches back to the board view.
- Chess960 mode: You can now also play Chess960 (Freestyle Chess) on LiChess.
- You can now also take part in tournaments if the starting line-up differs from the standard (themed tournaments) 2.9.3 04/09/2025 Improvements in Arena & Swiss Mode 2.8.1 12/05/2022 - Improvements in Arena Mode
- new: Berserk mode in Arena
- improvements if the opponent leaves the game
- Service links adapted to new website 2.7.0 10/20/2022 - various UI improvements
- new: Arena tournament mode
- new: Swiss Tournament Mode 2.6.4 09/22/2022 - Interrupted games are no longer started automatically (this solves the correspondence games problem)
- Changed the blinking pattern of the LEDs for moves, especially castling moves
- UI improvements (e.g. display if the starting position has been established before "New game") 2.3.4 03/03/2022 - eONE support for foreign apps (reset to default)
- new Millennium logo (adapted to the website)
- external links can now be closed without restarting the app
- external links are now dependent on the set language
- improvement in synchronization between LiChess time and internal clock 2.1.6 02/01/2022 The v2 now allows you to easily play with your friends. We have also added some new features in cooperation with Lichess.
like for example:
- Manage friends (top right icon) or add/delete opponents as friends (by clicking on the name).
- Play against a friend, a Lichess engine or use SocialShare Link for a new game
- The quick selection has been improved to find a suitable opponent for you.
- In the menu at the bottom center you can now give your opponent 15sec time, request a move retraction as well as claim the win if the opponent has left the game
and much more. 2.0.4 10/22/2021 Built-in sound support
Challenge friends (followers) by username and link
Challenge LiChess Engines
Bug fixes and improvements (e.g. time emergency clock)
Preparation for longer LiChess tokens in the future 1.2.1 08/19/2021 1.1.0 03/27/2021
